According to Reuters, Imran Khan’s lawyer Naeem Panjutha, Pakistan’s former Prime Minister, is challenging his conviction in a graft case at the Islamabad High Court. According to the counsel, a plea to dispute the weekend conviction has been filed at the Islamabad High Court.

Earlier, the former Pakistan Prime Minister’s lawyer informed Geo News that Imran Khan was being kept in “poor condition” in Attock jail and was being supplied with C-class facilities. The PTI chairman was willing to spend the rest of his life in prison, according to the counsel.

The lawyer went on to say that the cell where the PTI head is being held was filled with flies and bugs.

Imran Khan Jail

Imran Khan was sentenced to three years in prison on August 5 for illegally selling state goods during his stint as Prime Minister from 2018 to 2022. As judge Humayun Dilawar said in his decision, “Charges of misdeclaration of assets have been proven against the PTI chairman.”

According to Imran Khan’s counsel, the former Prime Minister, who was deposed in a parliamentary vote last year, was given a small room “with an open washroom.”

Previously, Imran Khan’s party, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), petitioned the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to transfer Imran Khan from Attock Jail to Adiala Jail. “Since childhood, the petitioner has come from a wealthy family, and later, as a result of his education, habits, and social and political standing in society, he has become accustomed to a better way of life… is a graduate of Oxford University, UK, and the… captain of Pakistan national cricket…,” the petition stated.
